Then, her husband, Mr. Sparks, met us outside on the playground. Someone had called Mr. Sparks (Sparks' Arc) because there was a Barred Owl who had been hit by a car this morning. After looking over the owl carefully, Mr. Sparks decided the owl was OK to be released to the wild. Which was so great was that he brought the owl right to our school so we could watch him release it!! Mr. Sparks, while holding the beautiful owl, told the kids about owls and then we got to watch him fly away! Thank you so much to Mr. and Mrs. Sparks for making today so wonderful!!
What a fun afternoon we had! To start, Mrs. Sparks (Delia's grandmother) came in and lead the class in creating adorable, unique pumpkin-owls! The kids worked hard on their listening and making each of their owls different and creative! They came out wonderfully, and we really appreciate all the thought and time Mrs. Sparks put into this project! Then, her husband, Mr. Sparks, met us outside on the playground.
